Sometimes challenges will open passages in a maze. Sometimes they will not. Sometimes solving challenges will allow players to recover secrets that will appear in other rooms. Sometimes they will not. Sometimes challenges will reward players with points and chests. Sometimes they will not. This all depends on how a Maze Maker decides to build challenges. However, 'Challenge Maze' is the name of the game and you can be sure that almost any maze you play will try to use challenges to make a maze more challenging.
There are a few commonalities in the way a player goes about solving challenges. Challenges are all presented in maze rooms. Challenges are also all solved by entering some information using a text input device like a keyboard. The following sections will explain about some commonalities as well as some of the optional parts of challenges that a Maze Maker may include.
The input box is where to enter the information using a device like a keyboard. It is where the answer is entered so that the Challenge Maze Software can figure out if the challenges been solved. Regular keys like the letter keys or number keys on a keyboard are the most common way of entering information. The solve button is the way of telling the Challenge Maze Software that it should check to see if the answer entered in the input box is correct. To select this button merely click on it or press ALT+ S (hold down ALT and press S).
This is where most challenges will present the content of what is required for the challenge to be solved.
Challengers might not always be used with challenges but the Challenge Maze Software download includes a maze that does use challengers. Challengers can appear as anything that Maze Maker would like to have present the challenge to a player. In the Challenge Maze Software download, the challengers are slime monsters and wizards.
