In Death's Kingdom, death reigned, death ruled. Surviving was rarely even close to certain for us. Many mothers and babies did not survive childbirth. Many babies that did survive childbirth did not survive childhood. Many men died on hunts and wild beasts of nature could attack anyone, anywhere. Exposure, dehydration, disease, infection, and starvation killed many of us too.
In Death's Kingdom it was death that told us what was right and what was wrong. If we didn't do the right thing to survive, then we would be wrong because we would be dead.
Death was in charge. It was in Death's Kingdom that the first order of humankind rose up. It is a type of human order that can rise up and grow in a place where death decides right and wrong.
